Before that game, though, FlyerNation had the chance to talk with Matt Schwade, the publisher of FlyerHoops.net. Matt was kind enough to give us a ring as he drove down to the UD Arena, and we were smart enough to record that very conversation. Tim and I got Mr. Schwade's thoughts on:
*every recruit in the 2010 class
*if Flyers fans should worry about Juwan Staten backing out of his commitment
*what the future might hold for Brian Gregory
*the odds that Chris Wright will be a Flyer at this time next year, and much more

Big thanks to Matt Schwade for the time. A lot of the information he shared with us is reserved for his rivals site that people pay real actual money to get.
ReplyDeleteLet us know what you think...
Boys, great podcast with the dude from flyerhoops. So if he feels Wright is 95% gone, shouldn't we just round up to 100%?
ReplyDeleteWright worked real hard this summer to improve his game to be NBA ready. Attending the Jordan/Nike camps along with the Lebron camp showed him he has some work to do though.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, as flawed as this is, I think a lot of his NBA stock will be based on the tourney (should be make it).
If we're a one and done or we don't make it, I don't see Wright projected well.
If the Flyers are playing in the second weekend of the tourney, Wright is a late first round/early second round pick.
I just need to find an online site to get my D leage jersey.
Hey guys, it was great to be with you on the Podcast. Just to follow up, the Parker that I think you guys were thinking of is Jabari Parker, a 2013 recruit. Jabari goes to Brandon Spearman's high school, Simeon in Chicago.
ReplyDeleteJosh's brother Jay is a 2011 player at Thornton.
"With the 57th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft the Minnesota Timberwolves select Chris Wright, forward, Dayton University."
ReplyDeleteMaybe I don't see it because I don't want to believe it, but I'm going with a 100% chance that Chris Wright is a Dayton Flyer next season.
That 95% figure that I threw out is not just my opinion, but the percentage I've been hearing that he is tossing around. I think the only way he stays is if they have an absolutely disappointing year as a team, and I don't think Flyer fans want that.
ReplyDeleteHe would be leaving at a time when the majority of the starting lineup graduates (London, Marcus, and Kurt), so his stock could fall if he stays and they take a long time to gel and get up to speed with all the incoming freshmen and Parker next season.
Finally had a chance to listen. Good stuff all around, kind gents.
ReplyDeleteFinally listened to this. Great work, guys.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in the speculation that Travis Trice is leaning toward the Flyers. Given that during the BG era, point guard has been the biggest weakness - Warren Williams, Meachum transferring, BRob playing out of position, the limited offensive skill set of London, the injury to Lowery, near misses on Pullen and Randle - this is very exciting news. It seems like BG is determined to not get caught with his pants down again.
Again, great work guys.
